We spent the afternoon on Inish Mor and it was amazing. The island is so rocky I don’t know how people managed to farm at all. There are stone fences everywhere and the ground is so rocky. They had to bring sea weed up to the pastures and fields to feed the sheep and add to the soil. The main industry now is tourists. The young people go away to school and university to learn a profession as there is nothing for them on the islands. We took a jaunting car around to see the island but didn’t see everything as I was unable to walk the distances so I went shopping ........ again.

Tonight we are in a hotel in Galway and tomorrow we go to Dublin.

Cory is doing the laundry and then we are off to Killarney where we will visit some sites, shop and eat in a pub that has music tonight.

They had an interesting horse drawn wagon that was used when there was a ship wreck. The wagon had a rocket on it that was launched at the ship and the line it carried was used to rescue the people on the ship. Apparently there was a pair of sturdy trousers that people would climb into and be pulled to shore along the line that attached the ship to the wagon. This was one of the ways they were rescued. We did make a few purchases at the gift shop.
Then we decided to take the ferry across to Waterford. On the way we saw an ad for ice cream so Cory went into the shop to get some. They didn’t sell cones but she got what she thought was ice cream sandwiches............ the picture on the 1x3x5 inch package was very deceiving.............. no ice cream sandwiches in the box just ice cream so Cory went back and got us two spoons.
A short ferry ride and we were in Waterford.......... lunch time so we stop at this mostly outdoor pub, order lunch and a cider. The owner told us the pub had been in his family for two hundred years and that we needed to go across the way into the old pub that had been there for more than 200 years ( i can’t remember how long at the moment). After lunch Cory asked the son if they had souvenirs we could buy. He came back a few minutes later with 4 of their pamphlets and a set of salt and pepper shakers for her. They had no souvenirs.
So off we go across the way to the original Meade’s Pub.............. what an amazing place. The low ceiling and fireplaces in each room, walls covered with all sorts of things and dark wood every where. There were three older men drinking so we talked to them for a little while........ well mostly I talked to them as Cory was trying to arrange a place for us to stay the night. We were given all kinds of good suggestions and the barkeep phoned around for us and arranged. We got a reservation at Dooleys Hotel. Meanwhile the gentlemen had bought me a cider and a Club soda for Cory...........it tasted much nicer than our club soda 🥤. Then we purchased a drink for them and made a date to come to the pub for lunch the next day.
Off to check into the hotel and go for dinner. We decided to have dinner at the other hotel they recommended, the Granville. Cory had a steak and I had a curry ........yummy food. Cory decided to have desert to go so the waitress packed it up for her and we started looking for Katty’s bar as they had music every night but decided we were too tired. As we walk into our hotel guess what I heard....... Irish music coming from the pub........ 2 men singing and playing,, one playing a guitar 🎸 the other an accordion.
So we have to go in and have a cider while we listen to the music.
Later ........ back in our room Cory opens her pudding package to find a little white cruet with cream in it for her Carmel pudding. We figure the waitress thought we were staying at her hotel. Anyway off to bed so we can be up reasonably early to see the Waterford crystal factory

We stayed at the cottage and relaxed , napped, went for a walk and just enjoyed being here. Oh we did have a visitor.......... Skip the sheep dog.

I know I am way behind on posting but I will catch up. I thought this was a good place to tell you about driving in Ireland. Cory asked the gentleman who drove us from the airport to pick up our car if he had any tips about driving in Ireland.
He told us that we had to drive on the other side of the road and unlike Canada 🇨🇦 you can’t turn right on a red light ,................. everything else were just suggestions. It is very true. If you see a parking space you pull in ............ it doesn’t matter which side of the road you are on. People make U-turns in the middle of the road, every one stops for the horses and carriages to turn around..... people walk across the road wherever they want. If you happen to be at a cross walk and the walk sign is red but there is no traffic you just walk across.

I mentioned the traffic circles in Dublin that have traffic lights on them but on the motorways (highways to us) the traffic circles are like we have. As the towns get smaller so do the traffic circles, down to the point where it is about a 5 foot circle in the middle of the intersection.

Then there is the "Traffic Calming" areas. This is done by putting honking great speed bumps across the road ( Cory uses a different term for them which I won’t repeat).

Speed limits:- on the motorway the speed is usually 120 km
-in town it is anywhere between 30 and 50.
- the smaller paved roads with no shoulders ( these are either hard or soft, shoulders that is not the road surface), just wide enough for two vehicles and very winding have posted speeds of between 80 and 100 km
-unpaved roads have a speed of only 70 because they are slightly narrower and bumpy.

So this is what we know so far about driving in Ireland.

Cory is a little more comfortable about driving on the left hand side but I still need to say "wrong side, wrong side, wrong side" when we turn ...............especially turning right.
So we arrive in Dublin and find a parking space that we figure is near the Guinness factory as we decide to go there first. As we are strolling along we find this little place called "The Sweater Shop" so we go in to have a look. What does Cory find almost right away ............... the green sweater I liked so much AND it was on SALE for twenty euros less. You will never guess what I did ................
well maybe you will....... I bought the sweater, merino wool from New Zealand knit in Ireland 🇮🇪. It’s loverly. The shop keeper tells us there are no more yarn shops in Dublin but we don’t know if we believe him. Cory said she saw "the constant Knitter" shop across the street and it looked closed........can you believe she didn’t even point it out to me....

Across the street is this spectacular church so we decide to go in and have a look. The inside is stunning. There over a dozen large, beautiful stain glass windows, wood pews and pillars and every thing is amazing. We are not catholic but we do stop and we both light a candle for Che.

We are feeling a little peckish so go into this little shop for tea and cake. We get a raspberry square and a lemon one and share them. There is an older man at the next table who strikes up a conversation with us. He is a retired electrician who has been trying to learn French and has also joined a writers club. He said the most thing he enjoyed about the writers club was the stories the other members wrote. After a very enjoyable half hour we had of to the Guinness warehouse.

So we walk on looking for the Guinness warehouse, and on and on and then discover they have a parking lot close to the entrance. Oh well the walk was interesting. All the old stone and brick buildings and funny little alley ways. The Guinness warehouse is seven stories tall. The last two stories are new and have a lot of glass, in fact everything but the floor is glass in the top one. So you start on the ground floor are work your way up. They tell you what they use and how they brew the beer. I found the description of how the cooper made the barrels was the most interesting. The barrels were all handmade and NO nails. They cut and shape each stave and then placed metal rim on one end of the staves. This is then put in a steamer to make the staves pliable enough to get a metal rim on the other end. Then they shave each stave so they are all smooth and the same level before putting on the metal bands. It was amazing to watch the video.
The tasting room was on the fifth floor and we each got a miniature glass of 🍺 and were given detailed instructions on how to drink it and what we should notice as we did. It was okay but not being a beer drinkers we never manage to finish the glass of beer they gave us when we reached the seventh floor. Oh yes Cory went a got a wheel chair from them for the tour as she didn’t think I would be able to manage all the walking. As much as I hate to admit it ........ it was a good idea.
We were going to take a taxi back to our car but took a horse and buggy instead. It was really fun and the cars gave way to us. The driver turned around in the middle of the street and everyone just stopped and waited.
So into the car and on the road again ............... it is rush hour and the motorway is wall to wall so we decide to take a drive the other way. We end up in Bray at a restaurant that overlooks the water and have a delicious dinner. Cory had a steak you could cut with a fork and I had a green chilli curry thing that was delicious. No desert as we didn’t have it first and were too full after. Time to go home as we are both tired and sore especially Cory. I think pushing me in a wheel chair wasn’t the best idea for her. So I talk to her, keep telling her how far it is , rub the kink in her back, open the window. Anything and everything to keep her awake. We made it back safe and sound and went to bed.

Our host family was having difficulties with their car getting wet inside. The son had pulled out the back seats as they were wet as was the trunk area. Cory told them she was in the car industry and proceeded to look in the car ........... then she lay down on the ground and looked under the car much to their surprise. She said she didn’t know how to fix 🚘 S but she did know how they looked when new. She pointed out several things that were not original and suggested what they might do. Cars are way more expensive over here.
We were going to go to Dublin but they said we would be better to go on a day when we got started earlier so suggested Kilkenny castle. So off we went to see a castle. They have been restoring the castle and there was hand painted wall paper, these huge paintings, most all of them portraits and the 4 huge tapestries that were hundreds of years old. When we go back through Kilkenny I am going to buy the book about the castle ................ that would be the one I should have bought when we were there. All in all it was a wonderful experience.
We also went shopping in the Kilkenny Design Centre which is across the street from the castle. The building used to be the castle horse stable and was full of amazing handcrafted items. We did purchase items here and I fondled a lovely green sweater twice but didn’t buy.........this was a good thing .....you will see..
Oh yes we had lunch in the castle.
Time to get some food and head 🏡 it had been a lovely day with only a tiny bit of rain ☔️.
That evening Michel, the son , came over to fix the 📺 and we had a long talk with him which was really nice. They raise black angus cattle but may have to sell some of the cows this year as there was so little rain in the summer that there’s a shortage of feed. Apparently the neighbours cattle broke out Saturday night and were all around the main house and our cottage .............. we never heard a thing.

After we retrieved our luggage are arranged for the smallest 🚘 we could get we were off. Cory is driving and the first thing she needs to remember ................. which side of the car to get in, then to stay on the wrong side of the road. We have the B&B on the GPS to I navigate and Cory drives. Every time we make a turn it is my job to say "wrong side, wrong side, wrong side", so we stay on the right side of the road or rather we stay on the left side which is the right side over here.

Then let me tell you about the traffic circles ............ they all have lights where you turn off or enter. I always thought the purpose of circles was to eliminate the lights but this is ireland so I don’t know.So we are motoring along and are on the highway no problem but then we turn off onto a narrower road, and a narrow road, and a narrow road. The hedges get closer and closer............. the road gets narrower and narrower. We are now down to a one vehicle slightly rough road until we finally arrive at the B&B which is delightful. It is an old stone barn converted to a little cottage. If google would left me add photos I would show you. We have a living room, bedroom kitchen room with a wood heater and a bathroom with a lovely big shower but....... the best thing is the king size bed with the feather duvet.

The owner is a delightful woman who made sure we had everything we needed. She started the wood stove for us and said the lads would drop the sticks off later. Okay so I am thinking kindling. ............ but no the sticks are a small log cut in half. No kindling, she uses a kind of fire starter to get the fire going.

So we’ve had decided to fight through the tiredness and do things today. After we hauled everything in and got settled we decided we needed to have a nap before going anywhere..................... one nap led to another and soon it was 7:00pm and we were hungry so we head for this little pub. We are too late for food as it is after 8:00, so we each have a cider. The bar tender and a couple of patrons give us directions to a take out place and a small market where we can buy dinner and food for breakfasts 🍳 and lunches. Off we go to get some food and head back to our cottage. After eating and watching a movie guess where we went .............. if you guessed bac to bed you are correct. That was our very exciting day in Ireland 🇮🇪.

I have been up since 4:30 but if you don’t count the half hour of sleep I had last night I have been up since 9:00am yesterday. Cory, Aaron and I watched "Under the Tuscan Sun" until 11:30 and then went to bed. At 2:00 am I was still awake. I did fall asleep for about half an hour , then Cory came in saying it is time to get up......... I woke up from that dream and couldn’t get back to sleep. Hopefully I can sleep 💤 on the plane.

I finally decided on what knitting to take and whether or not I would take a spindle or two. So I have three knitting projects and one orgasm to spin. I may not do any of them. But if I didn’t bring anything I would have needed something.

Aaron is supposed to text me the picture he took of Cory and I at the air port so I can post it here

Well that’s it for now. Cory is on a business call so I might knit or something.
Arrgggggghhhhh panic panic, where’s my list. What else do I have to do? What else do I need to pack and which bag does it go in. How much knitting do I need to take? They have wool stores in Ireland I can buy some if I run out...... hmm maybe I won’t take very much yarn just enough to keep me busy on the plane and for the first day or two ... then I really will have to buy Irish yarn.
Haven’t figured out where exactly we are going. Have some places in mind. Cory wants to sleep in a castle one night so we need to find one that takes visitors.

It's a nice little shop and home to the Mission Spinners and Weavers guild. The Guild is small and I am seriously thinking of joining. It will be a good way to meet some people from here. Also it might be an incentive to do more spinning. There is also a spin-in at the shop once a month so I put that on my calendar. Oh yes I had resolved not too buy more yarn but had to buy 2 skeins of lace yarn, after all you can't go into a new yarn shop and not buy anything.

The unpacking is almost finished , now to hang pictures on the walls. Yesterday picked up the hooks so today I may hang a picture or two. I need to figure out where I am going to put them all as we have so many.

I need to buy a zipper for Shelbys sweater and put buttons on the one for Elizabeth. I did finish one sweater for me. It is called "Amiga" and is a cardigan with 3/4 sleeves and no buttons. There is just one problem, I made it too big and it has stretched a little so is even bigger. It is comfortable to wear but I may have to frog it and make it smaller.

That's all for now, I need another cup of coffee and should get to work doing something.

Bill's Mother past away age 96. She was my friend and the best Mother-in-Law anyone could want. We will all miss her very much.
Mum was born in England and trained as a teacher. She met and married Bill's Dad during WWII. They had three children, Bill, Karen and Mick (they were twins). After the war they moved to Vancouver, Canada and then to Bridge Lake in the Caribou. There she and Dad built and ran a guest ranch. She also taught school in the one room school there. Later she taught school in Kamloops at Tranquil School. After they sold the ranch they moved to Victoria and then Mill Bay.
I can't finish the story right now and there is so much I left out.

There are still a few things at the old place and then it needs to be cleaned.
At the new house I am slowly unpacking boxes. The guys packed boxes to the ceiling in the dining room. Not sure how I am going to get them down, even wth the step stool its to high for me. The kitchen is getting there but haven't figured out where I am going to put every thing................ Also I seemed to have not packed the dishes or all the food. How did that happen ............. Don't ask me, my brain is mush these days. Mind you things are getting better as Bill is home and NOT using the walker he insisted I get from Lange,y Red Cross loans cupboard.
Yesterday was a party for the Allan's 50 th Wedding Anniversary. I don't know how they can be married that long ......... I was a Bridesmaid and I am sure I am not THAT old. It was a very nice party.

Back to the house I have unpacked about half the craft room boxes. I have one, no make that 2 boxes that will go to the second hand shop. I am trying to be realistic about what I keep. At this point I apparently have to live to 120 to use every thing in the ROOM and that is pre-supposing I don't buy any more fabric or yarn.............hmmmmmmmm
Yesterday Dottie and Cory came over to help me pack. We did some in the kitchen and bathroom before we tackled the ROOM. It now has some semblance of order and most of the books packed. Cory and Dottie work like I used to, start in the morning and pack all day. Now I am lucky if I last half a day. They made me go sit down and rest the last half hour or more that they worked. I really , really hate sitting while other people are working to help me. I think it might be my age ..................
Anyway there are now 80 boxes packed and we are probably half way done. I am going to try and pack a couple today before I go see Bill. Friday he was transferred to Holy Family Hospital for a week or two of rehab.
I have been checking out various yarns shops either on my way to see Bill or on my way home. Have visited three shops I a hadn't seen before and had a little retail therapy at two of them.

The other day I ybought a couple of sweaters to recycle the yarn. One was red as E wants a Red Riding Hood cape and the other was a green cotton. I looked at the green one when I got home and liked the hood and the length so tried it on. When I asked E what it looked like she said "it looks like grass"
I replied " yes it is green like the grass but what does it look like on me?"
Elizabeth "It looks good.............................. You look a little bit like the Incredible Hulk."
Needless to say I am frogging the sweater to re-knit into something that doesn't make me look like the Incredible Hulk.

Came home with goodies to spin and goodies to read. Thank you to Yarnfloozy. Forgot to take Sheila her pattern but can mail that. All in all it was a fabulous four days. I would post photos but my IPad and blogger don't get along.....

On the moving front I have two more boxes to go to the second hand shop and some yarn to go to knit night. Cory brought me a pick-up load of boxes yesterday and took a small load to the dump. I gave her one of my sewing machines as six is definitely more than I need ................. Yes honestly I really don't need six I can manage just fine with five. Sorted throught the cedar Chest and took out all the spun wool so there is just fibre in there. Now all my fibre does fit into the chest and two large totes. I have a large tote of handspun yarn with very few ideas of what I am going to do with it.

Today I am going to pack the things on and in the side board. Plus maybe the dragons and the sheep.
DH hasn't packed much of his stuff. I packed one tote and he packed one so he better get on it. He has his left knee surgery at the end of this month so won't be doing anything for at least a couple of weeks. Oh yes I packed boxes in a small box. Bill always natters at me about packing books in small boxes. I guess the first time we moved the book boxes were a little heavy.................

Well I guess I had better get to it

Oh oh........... I am still going to pack and move it ........ Just not to our new house. I am hoping to have my ROOM so organized it will be lovely to view at all times ................yeah right but hopefully it won't be an eyesore.

So far four boxes went to the second hand store, three boxes of books went to the daycare/preschool, and a lot of magazines went to friends. I now have two more boxes for the second hand shop, one box of books for the library and one box of books for my knitting friends. I have emptied three short Rubbermaid totes and filled two tall totes (not with the stuff from the small totes that stuff goes to the second hand shop). All my spinning stash is in two tall totes, one bankers box and a trunk. I am compiling my knitting and quilting stash to fit in the wall unit and the cupboard . Hopefully all my craft books and magazines will fit in the big book shelf. This is my plan .......... Will it be a successful plan ...............time will tell.

On the knitting front I am test knitting a little pullover that will fit Elizabeth and I need to put the zipper in Shelby's sweater. My several shawls are on hold. I have finished the hooded cowl for SIL just have to add buttons.

Quilting not much happening at the moment, need to pick out fabric for a wedding quilt and then I have to finish it plus another one. Cory and Aaron's quilt is marinating and several are on hold.

I bought a quilt rack the other day for ten bucks. It will be in the new living room and hold the quilts and afghans we use.

Spinning I am still working on the fibre that will become a sweater thing for me. Spinning is hard to do if the munchkin is around as she wants to sit on my knee and help.

Next weekend I should gets to spin a lot as I am on a spinning retreat ........... Hurray. The girls will look out for Bill, I will phone home every night to make sure all is well and the rest of the time is spin, visit, spin, eat, spin, visit, spin, eat, spin, visit, spin, eat, spin, visit, spin, sleep and the next day we get to do it all again .............. What a lovely way to spend the weekend.

Her Papa let her watch it 6 times on Saturday. I swear she knows it all by heart now..........

Today Cory took me for a spa day. We had facials, hot wraps, 90 minute massages and pedicures. We both came out of there totally relaxed and nothing hurt .......... It was marvellous and my skin feels fabulous. What a lovely present.

Jill and the girls came over on Monday and made a Birthday dinner for me, plus I got new slippers, a stand for my IPad, chocolates, a Christmas craft kit, earphones and a box of wooden matches.......

Tomorrow is knit night and Gail is taking me for a Birthday dinner...................we are going to eat dessert first. This always confuses the wait staff, so much fun.

Yesterday both sisters and one brother phoned ............ I think I will phone my youngest brother so he can wish me Happy Birthday. Lots of wishes on Facebook and my son phoned on Sunday. It has been a very lovely Birthday this year.

Now I am going off to bed and hopefully will be able to finish my book. Tomorrow is Library day as I didn't get there today.. Good Night All.

All went very well with the knee but the two to three night stay turned into 11 as other issues became a problem. Needless to say he survived and I went to visit every day but one. We both needed to see each other. Most days one of our DDs came with me as did a small child. VGH is 30k from our house. This takes no time you say ............................ In the city 30 k is 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours drive. Then they moved him to UBC hospital (about 10 k further) for the last three days of his hospital stay. He was much happier there as the food was way better and he got more Physio.
He has been doing his exercises and walking with a walker so is progressing and the Physio is happy with the progress. ( not the one he married but the one he goes to for treatment.). ............... Mind you the one he married is pleased with his progress too.

We are doing Christmas at our house this year as the steps at Cory and Aaron's are too much for Bill at this time and Jill's place is a little small for all of us. I need to get my "rear in gear" and clear out some things so we have room for the tree and people. The small child has way too many toys here and Bill and I have way too much stuff. Why is it that I can take at least two boxes to the second hand store and not notice a difference. I don't bring that much home each month maybe half a box at the most yet it doesn't look like any thing has gone out.

Yesterday I finished a request from Cory. She needed pockets put on a pair of pants ..................a lot of pockets all different fabrics. This was a gift to the BIG BOSS at work so today I should hear about what happened. I do have photos but Google isn't cooperating and I can't get any photos on here from the IPad.............. You will just have to use your imagination.

In the knitting department I finished Lisa's shawl ( there is a photo I cant show you). I am working on the sleeves for Shelby's sweater so should have it done for Christmas. There is another shawl I want to finish but don't think it will get done in time. I have sewing to do for the kids but will not say what it is. Not that I think any of them read this but just in case.

In the quilting department things have been rather slow. I have the trees pinned on C and A's quilt but now I have to think about how I want to do the leaves .................again I have a photo I can't show you because Google is being a pain.
The quilt for DHs nephew is still in the planning stage and I have a couple of quilts that need some hand sewing to finish them and several that need to be quilted.

THE ROOM ............. I have been working on it but there is still a fair amount to do before it is organized. Several boxes of stuff have gone out but still the room is too full. I keep asking myself "How long do you think you are going to live." ...................... Not long enough to use everything in the room that's for sure.

HELP I NEED A PLAN ................. Or something. .............LOL

My dear Mum-in-law always says "sharing is fun" but I disagree this time .............. She and I usually agree on things. The DGD#3 is sneezing and sniffing. I have started my inhalers and will take an antihistamine ASAP . I am too busy too be sick.
Went to VGH yesterday for Bill's pre-visit. They showed a video of what to expect and what preparations need to be made. It was very informative and DH seems to feel better about the up coming surgery.

I am working on DGD#2's sweater, she has been very pleasant to me lately so feel more inclined to knit for her, besides she has a BD coming up. Tried the partly knitted sock on DGD#3 who thought it was too small until I explained it wasn't finished .......... She then OKAYED the socks (Miss Bossypants)

I think DGD won as Jill and I ran out of snowballs. DGD has a invisible rule book and of course there are rules about snowball fights. This is 1. snowballs have to be round ( this one got scrapped)
2. Targets have to be still.
3. Sometimes you are the target and sometimes your are not.

Knitting
The shawl I am working on is causing a problem. "Someone" made a mistake eight rows back. I have tried to just redo that section but IT IS NOT WORKING.
Shelby's sweater is not progressing.
Dinosaurs are on hold until the above two items are finished.

Quilting
I have to match up fabric to make a wedding quilt for DHs nephew and wife.
Have the blocks for Cory's quilt sewn together, now to do the trees and leaves.
I need to do a baby quilt for a new Grand Niece.
There are three other children I know who also need quilts.
I have cut out one and a half quilts to sew at the retreat this month but don't know how much sewing I will get done as DH goes into hospital for knee replacement that weekend.

The house is in chaos as I am trying to organize and downsize the dwelling of two packrats. Needless to say this is a very slow, tedious process.

In the past week I have ironed the wax paper patterns to the fabric for the remaining 35 blocks I need to do for my Dear Jane quilt. The blocks are 41/2" unfinished and I am sewing them all by hand, I have done 134 of the 169 blocks, 33 of the 52 triangles and all four corners. To add to the crazy making I have kept track of the number of pieces.................... just I case this is an estimate of my sanity. Can't tell you the total at this time as I haven't added them up lately. The last count was 2810 but that was several blocks ago.

Have also pulled out another quilt project that has been aging and finished two of the feature blocks. Need to do two more , about 24 setting blocks and a zillion appliqués flowers and dragon flies............... This isn't mentioning the other quilt that is waiting with some of the small diamonds done that I have hand pieced .................see what I mean about my sanity. Mind you with my family maybe these are the things that keep me sane??????

On the knitting front not much is happening. My epic shawl is on hold, I am starting the pattern on my non-epic shawl, every time I think I will work on Shelby's sweater she does something to really
p€_}{~%*#} me.................... I really should get busy on it as I have another non-epic shawl to do before October. My sweater is on hold, have done just past the armholes (bottom up). Elizabeth's second dinosaur is waiting to be started. Oh yes I have almost finished a pair of socks............

Oh oh I think I hear an imaginary rainbow pony horse race happening outside which means DD and her DD have arrived so will sign off for now.
What a great performance and the singing was wonderful. I had to quit clapping at the end as my hands hurt too much. This is the story of the Wicked Witch in the "wizard of Oz".
Margaret and Jeannette picked me up and we all met at Lisa's house for drinks and a lovely dinner. Taxis to and from the theatre so no worries about drinking wine. All in all it was a wonderful night. Thank you my friends.

On the home front things are fairly quiet but probably now that I have said that they won't be, Murphy hangs around here a lot. Elizabeth wants me to go outside and race with her. She has shown me how to run pretending I am on a horse. Needless to say I am not galloping along the front sidewalk with her.

We saw Shelby twice last week which was very nice. Oh oh must go I hear them coming.

She brought it over on Sunday all upset because it was "ruined". It looks like on if the strands broke and it was unravelling. Her Mom had told her Grandma can fix it so I took it apart and today I re knit it so hopefully she will be happy. After all I have only done this scarf THREE yes three times. The first time it was too short for her liking, the second time it wasn't wide enough but I didn't have to redo it. This time it is longer than the first and wider than the second............. we shall see if it meets with her approval.
Apparently she was born with a rule book. No one has ever seen this RULE BOOK but very so often she says "You broke a rule". She won't tell you what you did wrong but you BROKE a RULE............. She won't even tell you what the rule is but you have to say you are sorry..........this child has a VERY VIVID IMAGINATION. One day she was playing with her imaginary horses, took a blue blanket and spread it on the floor, took off all her clothes and went swimming on the blue blanket. Apparently it was a very hot day on the prairie.
Shelby is going to come by today and show me how to get the zillions of emails off my IPhone. Maybe we will go shopping after that ........... Depends on her mood. At 13 that mood changes in the blink of an eye.
I have been working at THE ROOM as I really need to do some quilting. After months of knitting I am slowing down in that area for a while. Have to fix the border on my two colour shawl and then that will be finished. My only problem there is I didn't write down what needle I was using ......... Will just use a LARGE set to bind off.
The electrician is back again today. We lost power in half the house yesterday and it's no ground or something so he is running a new wire to the breaker or something. Fortunately we don't pay for it, one of the advantages of renting.
I am going to try David Suzukis get outdoors for so long every day in May. Will see how it goes. Anyone want to join me?
Well it is time for more coffee.

Anyone who has watched this movie and knows me knows why this is entitled "tears". My kids just shake their heads and Shelby looks at me and says "Gramma it's just a TV show. Meanwhile the tears are running down my face and sobs come from my area of the room. My children say they won't go to the movies with me because in the movie "Return to Snowy River" I leap up and yelled "THEY SHOT THE HORSE".
Is it a wonder I do not watch scary movies............ I get so involved in the show. The only scary movie I ever watched was "The Shining". My siblings forced me to watch it. I spent most of the time with my hands over my face.
It would be better if I could turn off the sound because then I wouldn't be able to hear "The Scary Music".........
You do realize that all bad parts of movies have SCARY MUSIC. If there is SCARY MUSIC I usually have to do something in the kitchen or THE ROOM .............. I come back when the SCARY MUSIC stops. You see I can listen to the SCARY MUSIC or watch the show but not both........ Oh well. Off to make some tea.

Five of us went out it Birgit's. She had booked the lodge for the day so we had lots of room. I just took hand sewing as I didn't want to haul the sewing machine and assorted other stuff. I worked on one of my DJ blocks and managed to sew 21 small pieces together by hand. I would have got more do e but we had to have show and tell, catch up on what has happened since October, have a look at everyone's projects and just generally visit. That sort of limited my sewing time. I have discovered that I am way more chatty than I think I am. Here I always thought of myself as quiet and shy.........
Finished the throw I was making. It has Elizabeth's approval as her comment was "it's big enough for me."

He had x-rays, blood work, ECG , was seen by the rather negative resident and the more positive surgeon. They told him he has to see the Cardiologist who will have the final decision on whether or not he can have the surgery. I had a disagreement with the resident when he said Bill had COPD, the surgeon said it was almost the same as asthma. I showed some restraint and only said "No it isn't" and left it at that. Didn't tell him I was a retired PT.
Have been trying to figure out the project(s) I will do during the Olympics. The Ravellry group has what are now called Ravellenics when the Olympics are on. The idea is to challenge yourself with the type or number of knitting projects and we get badges for finishing. It was called the Ravellympics but the IOC demanded that the site owners stop using that title. Apparently us doing these knitting projects was demeaning all the work the athletes went through, plus there was a whole lot of other sh"&#^~€. Cripes it has been four years since this happened and I am still annoyed about it. I know for me I watched way more of the Olympics than I have in the past. Anyway the past is past and we are doing the same thing under a different title.
For my projects I want to do a pair of colour work mittens and a Maple Leaf Shaped shawl. Then I looked at all my UFOs ( unfinished projects)and thought maybe I should be finishing them instead of starting something new or maybe I should see if I can finish my Williamson shawl. Mind you if I wanted to finish my shawl, I would have to lock myself in THE ROOM and ignor everyone for the duration of the games......... Some how I don't think this would be a popular choice.
