Quilting Retreat

Well I had another fabulous weekend. This time with my quilting friends. There were 14 of us, some for the whole weekend, some for two nights and some for the day. There was lots of laughter, sewing and sharing. Some of us even did some knitting.
DH was home babysitting Shelby and DJ so he had a good weekend as well (so did Shelby as "Papa' lets her get away with just about anything).
I made 25 siggy blocks as I am way behind and need to get about 12 sent out. I also did most of the quiling on a small Dear Jane quilt and my Sweet Things quilt. This year I am trying to finish off as many UFO's as possible. There are a lot of them. I need to clean my sewing room and will probably find a few I had forgotten about.
Lisa and her DH Rene are going to do the 2 day walk for breast cancer as Lisa is a breast cancer survivor. They need to raise $2,000 a piece to be in the walk so the quilting group (The Naughty Knotty Threads) volunteered to each do a baby quilt for her to sell. I also donated my blue Modular scarf. If you want to help let me know.....

MD scarf

Last night I finished my first Multidirectional knitting project. What a fun scarf to knit and easy to do. I have a rather reluctant model who would have prefered to be watching cartoons.
I am posting a photo of why this has been a busy week. We have been child and dog sitting. I am not used to getting ready for school , making lunches, walking the dog etc but it has been fun.

Weekend in Edmonton.

I need to write about this as it was so much fun but want to put in a picture so will save this space and write more later. My Dear Sisters flew me to Edmonton , Alta on March 2 and we spent a long weekend together. I had a fabulous time. More to come......
Friday night Wenday and Janice meet me at the airport and took me to our hotel. We ordered pizza from room service and decided to put wax on our hands while we waited. Wouldn't you know it ...................The pizza arrived before we were ready to take the wax off. Janice answered the door as Wendy and I were in our PJ's. To make this long story a little shorter the waiter thought we were waxing our hands to remove excess hair...............................ROFLOL How hairy did he think we were!!!!
Saturday we did a reminisce tour of Edmonton where my parents were married,I was born, schooling , Mother's grave , etc................. Lots of fun and photos in front of every building. Then we went to the MacDonald hotel in our blue jeans followed by shoppping. Janice is really bad about buying clothes for herself so I made her buy two pairs of pants, three tops and a vest. They looked great on her......she is the slimmest of the three os us. Dressed up for dinner at Tony Roma's.........................I think we got the attire and the restaurants a little mixed up.
My Niece Koren (Wendy's daughter and my only niece) and cousin Pat came with us Saturday and Sunday. Sunday we visited Auntie Norma and 8 of her 10 children came to see us. It was really wonderful. I had a fabulous time. Monday - shopping at a yarn store............Wendy bought a set of Denise needles and I bought a book on Modular knitting and a skein of "socks that rock "yarn . Thanks to Pat... Monday afternoon I flew home, Wendy and Janice drove back to Ft. St. John, Koren drove back to Calgary and Pat lives in Edmonton so she was already home.
It was an absolutely fabulous weekend BUT what the heck am I going to do when they turn 60?????????????? THANKS again Girls ....... Love you all.
