4 hours, yes FOUR HOURS. That is how much time I spend today sorting etc in THE ROOM and it doesn't look any different. I have all the yarn in one place. I have a large box of yarn to give away and the room is still a disaster.............................
I have finished my fingerless gloves and made a pair for Shelby. Bill has one more sock and strange man that he is he wants another one to go with it. I have been working on my Anniversary Mystery shawl and Bill's socks that the mouse chewed.
Must check Iris's e-mail so I know what to take to the Embellishment meeting tomorrow night. I really need another hobby like I need three left feet but it is always good to learn something new, besides it may decrease my stash of stuff.
Shelby was being a maid yesterday. She got the duster, broom , dustpan and carpet cleaner out and was very busy dusting and cleaning. I know she had all those things out as they were still out after she left ............................ LOL.
This is mostly about the crafts I am doing in my retirement but with the odd comment about family and friends.

ALL THE PINS IN THE HOUSE
are in use to block my Slow Bee 1 shawl. Yes it is finally finished and I am very pleased with it. It was fun to knit and in a way I was sorry to see it finished. I used foam squares to block it and it covers the top of our queen size bed.
These are the fingerless gloves I am working on. I may even get them done today if I don't spend too much time on this computer.
Yesterday we took Shelby garage saling and I got 10 skeins of this wool yarn for $2.50.I plan to make Shelby a sweater with a hood. Now I need to check my books for a pattern.
Oh yes and Shelby left us her usual calling card. We always know where she changed her clothes. She is definitely her Mother's child.

Pool halls and Hookers
I keep meaning to tell my son that I spend Wednesday nights at the Pool hall and thursday nights with the hookers but I keep forgetting. Last night at the Pool hall/ cafe Sharon and I swapped some sock Yarn and she had some other yarn that was ideal for this bear I want to knit. Gail stopped by briefly but only to drop off the sweater pattern. She had a horrible headache so didn't stay. Laura is on ball four of her alpaca (or is it Lama) and the afghan is looking lovely. Kathy's socks went to the frog pond as they were too small. She was using 2.00 needles instead of 2.75. Sharon was knitting the sleeves on her grey Arvick sweater. All in all it was a fun evening.
Yesterday I went shopping at the yarn shop that is closing and bought 3 balls of sock yarn.................... I really did need more yarn................, four patterns and " Knitting without Tears" by Elizabeth Zimmerman. I didn't have any sock yarn in these colours and I had never before seen that patterns I bought plus the book was on my list.
I now have to live to 160 to do all the projects I want to do. Buying those things just added 10 years to my life,,,,,,,,,,,,,, See I did need to buy it.................... LOL.
Today has been terribly exciting...... go to the bank , go to the mechanic as the brake light was on............. Only needed fluid Thanks goodness, go to the grocery shop, go to the second hand shop. I mean I was driving right by the shop so of course I had to stop. Bought a rock tumbler for the little one, a book for me, some note cards, a sheep mug and a basket. I didn't really need the basket but it was only 99 cents and had a nice handle. I think I will take my leftover sock yarn to Sharon in the basket. DH says I would buy "used camel cages"if they were 99 cents. I must say it is my favorite price and it is getting harder to fine things for 99 cents so you have to get them when you see them.
Tonight it is off to Knitopia , ( wool shop in Langley) to meet the spinners , Knitters and rug Hookers. I have finished one of my fingerless gloves that I am making from leftover sock yarn and have a reasonable start on the second one. Don't ask about SB1............. I am saving that up date for another day.

Busy worrying
I know I haven't posted for 2 weeks but I have been busy worrying about my sister, making siggy blocks and knitting SLOW BEE 1 .
I have all 165 blocks made and am in the process of signing them. I do need to do about 20 more siggies for the international swap,
Slow Bee One - I have ten more pattern rows to do before I start the border which can be 8,16 or 32 rows wide. At approximately one hour/row the border maybe only 8 rows wide. Currently there are 762 stitches in a row and every other row adds 12 more stitches. I would love to be able to give this to my sister in person but I doubt this will happen.
Shelby came back from two weeks at her Dad's with an ATTITUDE that even has her in trouble with Grandpa. She is sassy and
rude to boot. Slowly we are finding out what happened and the behaviour is improving.
We made a whirl wind trip to the island. Went over Saturday morning and came back Sunday afternoon. Bill's nephew , Mike, was home with Regina, his Russian Bride. They were married in November 2007 but this is the first time she has been able to get a visa to come over. Mike works over in Russia 4 months there, four months home. She is a lovely girl and speaks English fairly well but she was cold all the time. She lives by the Caspian sea where it is very, very hot. Bill says Mike is going to have to mind his "P's and Q's" with her as she is of Cossack descent. Some one needs to keep that boy in line. Anyway there was a lovely reception and we saw pictures of the wedding in November. Bill's brother and his wife were there with his daughter and her son. Altogether we were 15 so it was nice. Jill, Shelby and Jamie went over with us. Cory had to work so was unable to come. Hopefully the couple will stop over in our area on the weekend and Cory will get to meet Regina.
I will have photos later from Jill. I left the card with the photos I took with Mum so she could look at them on her "Photo Frame"
